The New York Public Library’s largest circulating branch—the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL)—will fully open to the public in fall 2020 after undergoing a full-scale renovation. Located at the site of the former Mid-Manhattan Library, the new, state-of-the-art library will feature eight floors of amenities and services, including four floors of general collections and reading rooms, thanks to a generous gift from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and support by the City. Visitors will get an initial glimpse of the new building’s first floor beginning on Monday, July 13, when SNFL partially opens to the public as part of the Library’s gradual reopening of eight locations following its temporary closure due to COVID-19.
