The British School of Fashion is delighted to welcome former student Johanna Weiermann on to campus on Friday 7 December for a guest lecture on Ethical Consumption.
Johanna Weiermann is a GCU London graduate. Prior to studying International Fashion Marketing, she graduated in Marketing and Sales (BA) from FH WKW Vienna, spent one semester at IPAG Paris to pick up some savoir-vivre skills, learn how to speak proper French and understand Geopolitics. She has worked in retail, as a warehouse assistant, waitress, office clerk, buyer - you name it. After an internship at L’Oréal, she decided to go back to university in in order to deepen her knowledge in the field of fashion and beauty.
Thus, in 2015, Johanna entered the Master’s program International Fashion Marketing at GCU London. During her time as a student at GCU, her objective of finding out how to do fashion business in a more responsible way. Johanna wrote her thesis on “Green Supply Chain Management”, under the supervision of Dr. Paul Weeks. Furthermore, she gained valuable professional experience in retail (Whistles, Balenciaga, Harrods) as well as recruiting (Elite Associates) during her time in London.
Having graduated with a distinction, she moved back to Vienna to work as a merchandise controller in the buying department at Peek & Cloppenburg CEE. Today, Johanna is Global Marketing Director at 180 Degrees Consulting, a consultancy for non-profits and social enterprises, she is Community Manager at Dariadeh, a responsilbe clothing line and recently co-organised and tutored at Responsible Luxury Academy at Politecnico Milano.
On Dec 7th, Johanna is giving a guest lecture to the Fashion and Lifestyle Marketing students. Having collected most professional and academic experience in fashion, she will fill you in on why and how ethics are crucial for a successful fashion career. Johanna will be talking about academia’s standard of knowledge, spiced up with best and worst practice examples.
